In single/double deck naturally they use 1 or two decks and the twist is that the cards are dealt down and you can handle them, unlike regular blackjack that's dealt from a "shoe" with 4-6 decks of cards in it and everything is dealt face up. I began to really take to the whole "face down" thing, i liked the mystery of it, not knowing what other people had. well, it's not like anyone hid their cards from one another, we were all playing against the house so it really didn't matter. The other upside is that it gives you the chance to make an "attempt" at counting cards, at least to the point where you can make an educated guess towards the end of the deck as to how favourable/unfavourable your hand may be. My trick was to simply cound the number of Aces, 10's and face cards dealt. No guarentees in this system, but it probably raised my chances by .5% for the last few hands. Roulette is another game i'm sorta into but mostly affraid to play, though in the past I have had a fair amount of luck with it. One really "cheese" system I came up with was to simply play a single colour : ie : place a bet on "red", if you win good, if you lose double your bet on red, and keep doing so until red comes up, because eventually it will and you'll win back everything you've lost + "1". Like any system though, it has it's failing points : Ffirst of all it can be verrry boring since it can take a good five minutes between spins since it takes so long for people to place bets and to pay off the winners. Secondly, some tables have high minimums and low maximun bets when playing the outside, this can make it tricky to win back your stash when you've lost on five or more spins in a row. For that reason alone I was quite intrigued when i heard about the "El Cortez" Casino, probably the only joint in town with 10cent Roulette! ahh, the Elcortez... 15:44:42 - 2000-08-05 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
