gnoll's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- world pie A dc10 passenger plane went down somewhere in brazil. A local polis chief and deputy heard the news over shortwave and decided to take the boat out along the rover to track down the crash site. They didn't know how many people had been on the plane, but guaging by the trail of smoke and debris they encountered up stream they figured the casualty rate would be high. the chief told his deputy to make room in the boat. "we'll have to cram in a bunch of people i'm guessing, probably all wounded. i figure we have enough room for ten people if we chuck the water bottles". they had around a dozen large water tank bottles that they found a few days ago and intended on turning them in for the deposits. they approached the crash site, following the smoke, and around the next bend they found themselves face to face with the survivors. they all stood in a clearing on the bank of the river and there was almost three hundred of them. they didnt know this little boat had come to save them and the chief and his deputy both silently acknowledged that they couldn't do much to help three hundred people, so they pretended to be fisherman and continued up the river where they'd be able to get the deposits on the water jugs. maybe later on they would head back, see if the victims had been saved or moved on. then they could rummage through the debris for valuables. kristin and i walked along the danforth, in las vegas, and decided to check out a movie at the east indian cinema. tickets were only a dollar. inside they sold slices of mondial pie, also a dollar.
