gnoll's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 200_000 for level-off. it all seems sketchy now. im almost certain i was walking around in the parking lot next to the value village at dundas and dixie in mississauga. I was watching over a couple in their early twenties. he was 21-22, short brown hair, t-shirt, jeans. she was shorter, t-shirt, jeans. They had somehow managed to scrape together 200,000 dollars. they did a lot of bad things to get that money together, and they kept it all in a large brown paper bag. They intended to use that money to get away, leave the country, go south, somwhere, i doubt they really cared. Then i found the bag.
I was with michelle, we were in one of those swanky grocery stores with the shopping carts that are a mere 12inches deep because the people who shop there never buy much. the bag was in my hand and i nervously browsed the fresh bagels and buns always keeping an eye on the door. i knew they'd head in our direction and i knew they'd come in looking for us. Michelle didn't really comprehend the danger we were in but i knew we had to leave, so without a word of explanation i grabbed her hand and briskly walked out of the store dragging her along behind. she said she knew someone who lived nearby and we could hang out there for the evening. we crosed the parking lot, across a street and through a few backyards to a row of townhouses. the first one was where her friend lived. she rang the doorbell while peered through the windows. In the basement i saw a young clean shaven man in a leather thong and collar, ankles bound to a rod that kept his legs apart. when he heard the bell he bagan to shuffle towards the stairs to come answer the door.
