gnoll's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- seminar the other night we must have been waling around the south-west border of he highpark area, i recognized the green shingle roof-tops on all those old eurpean owned homes. From the road the bank slopes down and we walked over to the large abandoned building which was probably a school in the 40's. From the fire-escape stairwell we were able to slip into one of the classrooms on the 5th floor. Everything was broken and dusty. I kinda wanted to get out and go home, it's been getting darker a lot earlier these days and it looed like to was going to rain too, but i gave in and we checked out one of the unlocked doors to the south. arriving at the bottom we found the seminar hall, it was filled with people and everyone had already taken their seats. Flourescent lighting, stage, podium, grey carpeting, blue theatre style seats : I expected tony robbins to come walking out but instead we were treated with some portly bald guy in the light grey fitted suit. They all knew him, that was a given. When he entered the room from behind the velve6t curtains they hall stood on the tips of their toes to get a better look while they cheered him on. The three of us stodd up as well in an attempt to not look out of place : i could see hired members in the audience scoping around for people who might appear as if they needed to be "escorted out" in a prompt and discreet manner. a few minutes into the MC's speech i knew it was time we made our way out, despite the fact that our exit would be painfully obvious to all, i knew we had to go. Sure enough a few hired audience members took note of our brisk walk to the right exit, they all talked into the collars of their jackets and held their right hands to their ears.
